Picture of Jack "I came to Brighton about 11 years ago. I had been writing training videos in London, and was worn down by living among so much brickwork and by inventing realistic dramas about marketing managers! I taught English as a Foreign Language in Brighton for a few months, then got a job designing computer-based training courses. A friend took this photo on the Downs near Brighton. "

Picture of Volkswagon Beetle "I wanted to work on museum or heritage projects, and after a few years of designing multimedia programmes for business, I got the chance to design a touchscreen exhibit about the history of Brighton (see my recommendation for the Visitor's Guide below). I collaborated with a company called Desktop Display; we're now designing exhibits for the Royal Pavilion and the St John Ambulance. For a long time, this Volkswagon Beetle was my own museum exhibit."

Street-party in Brighton "What I like about Brighton is the size of the town: you can always see where it ends, either at the sea or at the surrounding hills (the Downs). And there's a sense of community and youth - events like this street-party are the sorts of local cultural experience I appreciate most."
