Inside Guide to Brighton & Hove
Cricketer's Arms, Berwick
HOW TO GET THERE
The village of Berwick is about half an hour's drive out of Brighton on the A27, travelling East. Turn right just before the Polegate roundabout.

Cricketer's Arms, Berwick
Beer from the barrel at the foot of the Downs
"There's a nice combination of things to do round this pub. Ten minutes walk away there's a church with murals by the Bloomsbury Group, and clear glass windows looking out on the Downs. The pub itself serves local beer straight from the barrel (not even hand-pumps). There's an organic farm shop on the way back to Brighton. For foreigners I think the day gives a taste of rural England; a country pub, a country church, organic vegetables and a farmyard."
